Imo that's not too bad for a free to play game. As long as you are about average and play random matches (PvP) instead of co-op. If your matches take 15 minutes on average, you can unlock a t7 ship in 18-19 hours of playtime which is easily done within a week or two without any bonusses just by playing 1-2 hours per day. A t7 ship takes less about 80k XP to research (including the hull upgrade for the t5 ship). On average, players get about 1100 XP per battle in t6 ships. The rewards in co-op are very small on purpose, players are not supposed to get a lot of progress there. Rewards depend on your performance in battle.
